Community Concern Center
The Community Concern Multi-Purpose Learning Center (Brewerytown, Philadelphia) is a transformation of an existing child care center housed in a former grocery store into a state-of-the-art vibrant early education center focused on children’s whole well-being.
The design includes an addition that allowed the classroom layout to be reconfigured to add one pre-kindergarten classroom for a total of three pre-kindergarten classrooms, and to customize the infant room and the toddler room to the specific needs of these age groups.
AKA led an intensive existing condition assessment which provided the information needed to stabilize the building’s structure and to replace the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
